Client context

GFMD brings together organisations that support journalism and media development. UNESCO’s International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC) mobilises cooperation around media development. Their consultation initiative connected international policy recommendations with national media-market realities.

Context

GFMD and UNESCO-IPDC supported national consultations designed to test global media-viability recommendations against local conditions in Tunisia, Lebanon and Namibia.

PENCILS contribution

PENCILS was a local implementing partner for the Tunisia consultation alongside Al Khatt and PAMT2.

The work helped bring together media organisations, journalists, sector-support organisations, researchers and other stakeholders to discuss the conditions affecting long-term media viability in Tunisia.
